This trip allows you to discover the varied landscape along national road 7, the fauna and flora of Anja private park, and the unique landscape of Isalo National Park.
Arrival at Ivato airport. Welcome by our representative. Direct drive to Antsirabe, the spa town, via RN7. Stop in Ambatolampy and visit the aluminium foundry. Arrival in Antsirabe and hotel check-in.
After breakfast, cyclo-pousse city tour of Antsirabe and visit to craft workshops (zebu horn jewellery, toys). Drive to Ambositra, the capital of Malagasy craft, and market visits. Continue to Fianarantsoa. Hotel check-in.
Breakfast, visit Fianarantsoa (upper and lower town). Stop in Ambalavao: Antemoro paper-making workshop, visit Anja private reserve (ring-tailed lemurs). Continue to Ranohira then 800 m walk to Namaza campsite. Short walk around the camp. Dinner and overnight in tents.
First day exploring Isalo: eroded sandstone landscape, canyons up to 200 m deep, 14 mammal species including several lemurs. Visit Namaza canyon (black and blue pools, waterfall). Climb to the plateau via the ridge and panoramic viewpoint. Natural pool in the afternoon. Dinner around the campfire.
Depart for the Maki canyon. Of more than 400 species recorded in Isalo, over 70% are endemic to Madagascar. Long day hiking through endemic cliff flora. Return to the campsite outside the park at end of day.
After breakfast, depart for Ambositra, the capital of Malagasy craftsmanship: marquetry and wood carving. Mountainous landscape surrounded by terraced rice paddies and eucalyptus plantations. Hotel check-in.
After breakfast, drive to Antananarivo via Antsirabe. Stop in Ambatolampy (metalworking village, aluminium souvenirs). Arrive in Tana and transfer to the hotel.
After breakfast, quick city drive and visit to local markets for souvenirs. Transfer to the international airport for the return flight. Veloma and until next time!
