During this journey, we will take you to discover the beauty of the island of Madagascar. Varied landscapes will follow one another: the humid high plateaux that shelter Andasibe National Park, Ranomafana, Isalo, Zombitse, Anja park... Besides visiting these parks, this circuit is also rich in encounters and discoveries.
On arrival at the airport, our representative will meet you for the transfer to the hotel. Welcome to Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar! It is known for its Asian feel, its many staircases, its steep hills, its palaces, its cobbled streets and churches, as well as its rice paddy landscapes. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, our first stop is the Peyrieras reserve: butterfly breeding, chameleons, frogs, snakes and bats. We continue to Andasibe park, filled with 11 species of lemurs including the legendary Indri. On arrival at the hotel, we will visit a community reserve for a night walk to spot nocturnal animals.
After breakfast, guided walk through Périnet park. Exceptional biodiversity: Indri Indri, grey gentle lemur, woolly avahi... In the afternoon, visit the crocodile park and the lemur island. Return to the hotel.
After breakfast, return to Tana. On arrival, city tour: royal palaces, historic districts, lively markets of Antananarivo. Check-in at the hotel.
After breakfast, heading south via RN7. Visit the Ambatolampy smelter, famous for its aluminium products. Crossing the Highlands with terraced rice paddies, crops and red brick houses. Arrival in Antsirabe late afternoon.
Breakfast, then cyclo-pousse tour of Antsirabe. Shopping in Ambositra and visit to Zafimaniry workshops (carved wood, marquetry). Continue to Ranomafana, in the heart of the Betsileo region. Night walk spotting mouse lemurs and other nocturnal animals.
After breakfast, enter Ranomafana National Park. Primary tropical forest with rare lemurs: golden bamboo lemur (Hapalemur Aureus), red-fronted brown lemur, red-bellied lemur, and the greater bamboo lemur (Hapalemur Simus). Genetic reservoir of rare endemic and medicinal plants.
After breakfast, depart for Ambalavao: visit the Antemoro paper-making workshop. Visit Anja private park, managed by the local community. Continue to Vohitsaoka, then track to Tsaranoro village in the beautiful valley behind the Andringitra massif.
After breakfast, hiking through the beautiful Tsaranoro valley. Various circuits featuring sacred forest, high-altitude palm forest and bamboo forest. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, track to Vohitsaoka, then RN7 to Ranohira. Crossing the Ihorombe plateau and its grassy steppe. Arrive in Ranohira with sunset over the Isalo massif.
Full day hiking in Isalo: Jurassic sandstone landscape, canyons, natural black and blue pools, magical rock erosions. Endemic cliff flora (aloe, euphorbia, pachypodium, kalanchoe). Picnic in the Tapia forest. Panoramic view from the summits.
After breakfast, road south via Ilakaka (former sapphire rush). Visit Zombitse national park: dry forest with 72 bird species and 8 lemur species. Stop in Tuléar, then transfer to Ifaty and visit the private Reniala reserve.
Free day in Ifaty. Many activities available: boat trips, diving, hiking, cycling or quad biking, visiting fishing villages.
Free morning. Transfer to Tuléar airport for the flight to Antananarivo. Welcome and transfer to the hotel. NB: the programme may be adjusted based on domestic flight schedules.
