Arrival at Ivato Airport. Meet & greet by our representative, transfer to the hotel.
Antananarivo (City of the Thousand), once named Analamanga (blue forest), is Madagascar's capital — a reference to the thousand warriors said to protect the newly founded city during the reign of King Andrianjaka in 1610. The city surprises with its historic remains, red-brick houses, rice plains, colourful markets, folk gastronomy and ethnic blend.
After breakfast, direct flight to Diego-Suarez (Antsiranana), a cosmopolitan city with striking cultural diversity. On arrival, we drive to the Three Bays — turquoise coves fringed with long white beaches: « Pigeon Bay », « Dune Bay » and « Sakalava Bay », home to the great baobab.
We take our time on every beach, especially Dune Bay. Swimming and relaxation at Dune and Pigeon Bays. Fun and laughter on the programme. Transfer and check-in at the hotel.
Day dedicated to relaxation on a small island in Diego's Emerald Sea. The schedule depends on the tides: after an hour on the road, an hour of traditional boat sailing leads to this enchanting spot.
Lunch on a beautiful white-sand beach with fish caught the same day and grilled on site. In the afternoon, return to Diego-Suarez and continuation to Joffre.
After breakfast, visit to Montagne d'Ambre National Park, which preserves a dense tropical rainforest. The park hosts a rich wildlife: 7 lemur species, about 75 bird species and 59 reptile species. Hike inside the park.
After breakfast, we head south to Ankarana along National Road 6. On the way, a short detour to Irodo village for the Red Tsingy — a laterite rock formation born from the erosion of the Irodo river. A surreal, refreshing walking site.
Continuation towards Mahamasina, gateway to the Ankarana Tsingy. Check-in at the lodge.
After breakfast, discovery of Ankarana National Park! Rugged basalt-soil relief, seasonal dry forests and the famous Tsingy — a limestone formation eroded into a labyrinth of narrow corridors.
Endemic wildlife everywhere: lemurs, mongooses, bats, owls… On the programme: a walk through the astonishing Tsingy Rary and the Bat Cave.
After an early breakfast, we head to Ankify, the boat departure point to Nosy Be, « the perfume island ». The road crosses coffee, cocoa, spice and ylang-ylang plantations scenting the air. Welcome at the harbour, transfer and check-in at the hotel.
After breakfast, city tour: the Sacred Tree, Hell-Ville market, Andilana beach. Along the road, we admire the lush landscapes while learning about the local way of life.
To end the day, a panoramic sunset from the suspended terrace of Mount Passot. Return to the hotel.
We head to Madagascar's top tourist destination: Nosy Tanikely marine park and Nosy Komba. A dream island and natural reserve, Nosy Komba offers a postcard beach, crystal-clear water and forest behind.
Snorkelling: dolphins and whale sharks (depending on the season), pufferfish, three turtle species. A hike up to the lighthouse to watch the lemurs. Nosy Komba is famous for its black lemurs living alongside the community. The embroidered tablecloths of Ambarovato village are also worth a look.
A small island near Nosy Be, often seen as the hidden jewel of the region. Nosy Iranja is the ideal spot for peaceful scenery: possible observation of turtles laying eggs, or young turtles rushing to the sea. Forest walk to a deserted beach.
After breakfast, free half-day to relax. Transfer to Nosy Be airport. Flight to Antananarivo according to schedule.
After breakfast, visit to the La Digue craft market, then transfer to the airport. We bid you « Veloma » — until next time!
