The park is made up of two protected areas, the Indri of Analamazaotra Special Reserve and the Mantadia National Park. The whole covers an area of over 15,500 ha in the district of Moramanga of the Province of Toamasina.
Part of the Central Highlands, Mantadia - Andasibe National Park is located on National Route 2, a 3-hour drive with the coordinates Longitude 48 ° 24 'and latitude 18 ° 46'. From an altitude of 900-1250 meters, the relief is rugged, the climate pre humid, with an average rainfall of 1700 mm, spread over 210 days. The average temperature is 18 ° C.

Fauna: there are 11 species of diurnal and nocturnal lemurs including the Indri Indri, a monogamous variety, birds, tenrec, chameleons and frogs which are unique
Flora: several types of medium altitude forests are observed. The vegetation is lush and comes in the form of successive strata:
* Large trees up to 30m high
* Tree ferns
* Epiphytic orchids
* Medicinal plants and sacred vines.
