The flora and fauna of Madagascar are incredibly rich. Madagascar is actually considered by all scientists as a nature sanctuary. Here are living and growing unique species in the world, both in their form and their number. You will find no less than seven varieties of baobab trees, where none exists only throughout Africa.
Naturalists have cataloged in Madagascar more than 19,000 plant species, and it's a world record, over 1000 varieties of orchids. This is in Madagascar that we encounter the most diverse varieties of lemurs (who also disappeared from the world), and two thirds of the existing species of chameleon in Madagascar are in the world. You will find below a list of the most symbolic representatives of the Malagasy flora and fauna, though obviously far from exhaustive.
